As the mom of 3 boys, Dr. M’liss Hogan offers the unique perspective of a woman and mother to her plastic surgery patients. A native of New Orleans, Dr. Hogan is a board-certified plastic surgeon who joined our Baton Rouge-based plastic surgery practice in 2021 after operating a solo practice for 6 years. She specializes in body contouring procedures and cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery.

Dr. Hogan earned her medical degree at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans after obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology from LSU. Following med school, she completed a general surgery residency at LSU Health Sciences Center. Dr. Hogan then completed a 3-year residency focused exclusively on plastic and reconstructive surgery.
During her plastic surgery training, Dr. Hogan was involved in research and co-authored several publications and book chapters involving plastic surgery.

Outside the operating room, Dr. Hogan devotes much of her time to her family. Following LSU sports is a passion shared by all her family, and they attend as many games as possible. She also lives a healthy lifestyle that includes regularly working out.

I was referred in 2020 by my oncologist to a handful of plastic surgeons who specialize in double mastectomy breast reconstruction. Without question I chose Dr. M'liss (her staff and website was more genuine and reassuring than others, so I felt more comfortable immediately). I appreciated how she did not push me to get implants and understood my body type, other health concerns, and what would overall look better for me not only in the present but in the future. Working with her and her staff, was the best choice for me. During and after surgeries, she is very responsive, provides a number to call/text and when she is unavailable, her nurse (Laura) is always there to help with any questions or concerns. My initial reconstruction went relatively smoothly and my follow-up procedure for touch ups went great, despite it all happening during Covid. Her new office in Covington is easy to get to, and Heather Avery NP (whom I've had the pleasure of seeing at my oncologist as well) is now in office. Everyone there is amazing, thorough, and I wouldn't recommend anyone else.
